조선 후기 실학자 정약용이 마진[홍역]의 증상과 치료법을 수록하여 편찬한 의학서로, 조선과 중국의 마진전문서를 참고하여 저술했다. 부록 신증종두기법 1편에서는 E.제너의 우두방을 중요 소개했다.

A book of medicine that Jeong Yakyong (1762-1836) compiled to convey the information on the symptoms and cures for measles, which he wrote by referencing books on measles from both Joseon and China. Summarized and introduced in the Appendix, Chapter 1, (Unusual Method of Newly Proven Vaccination), is Edward Jenner’s smallpox vaccination method.
