양명학자 정제두의 문집이다. 조선 후기 양명학에 대한 성리학자들의 비판이 거세지자 정제두는 『학변學辨』으로 양명학의 정당성을 변론하고, 『존언存言』을 지어 그 이론을 정리했다. 정제두의 저술은 정식으로 출간되지 못하고 필사본으로 전해 왔다. 이 책은 1856년(철종 7) 후손 정문승鄭文昇이 정리한 것을 필사했으리라 추정된다.

This is a collection of writings by the Yangmingist Jeong Je-du (pen name Hagok). In response to the growing criticism of Yangmingism by neo-Confucianists in the late Joseon Dynasty, Jeong Je-du defended the legitimacy of Yangmingism in his Hakbyeon (In Defense of Yangmingist Learning) and summarized its theories in his Joneon (Testament) . These writings were never officially published and were transmitted through manuscripts. This book is presumed to have been transcribed by his descendant, Jeong Mun-seung, who organized it in 1856 (the seventh year of King Cheoljong’s reign).
